Twist

So yeah, Come Around Sundown sucked. So much that it made me not amped to write things. However, I've subscribed to a bunch of vlogs and it really makes me want to express myself on the internet. I'm thinking about starting a vlog but to be honest I can't be bothered to do the editing.

Anyway, the problem with Come Around Sundown wasn't that it was particularly bad, I just couldn't think of much to say about it and thats worse. Thematically I just felt like I wasn't a part of it and musically it was completely unremarkable. Its depressingly safe.

Finch broke up again. I'd be a little more emotional had I found out on the day it happened but it was a while ago now. Say Hello To Sunshine is an album I always think about when people talk about favorites. I loved it so much I burnt something like five copies so that I could keep one in each CD player I owned and a couple extra to give to friends at random. Their output post-sunshine was so promising. A full-length would have turned me into a whole new level of fan. Its so lame they couldn't hold it together to release one more. They put out two songs they we're going to put on a new album when they split. They are very good. I can't believe they don't get along musically anymore. At least it doesn't sound that way. I like the album art because it acknowledges the struggle they've gone through and its also like consolation and closure for the fans.

I downloaded Thom York's album The Erasure on a whim because I heard Analyse during the credits for The Prestige. At first I thought it was a Radiohead song and I loved it so I looked it up. I was surprised to discover  that Thom York's solo material shares the chilling combination of sophisticated electric percussion and moving piano chords that makes recent Radiohead albums so delightful. I enjoyed The Prestige, although I realized halfway through that I had seen it before. Knowing the twist kind of killed it for me. At least It lead me to some good music.
